Last week I stumbled upon this campaign by Chipotle Mexican Grill, and it's so NICE that I had to post it. :)
We all get our share of spam, right? Ms. Dorathy Felix wants me to transfer $6.5 million to me because her "uncle is a total trait to my life." Hmm. I hope Dorathy isn't too upset that I didn't write her back. But I have this thing in the works with a Nigerian prince, and well, one multi-million dollar transaction at a time.
Well, Chipotle wants to turn your junk mail into better school lunches!
Today's Assignment: Forward that Junk Mail
For every ten junk emails they receive at nojunk@chipotlejunk.com, they'll donate a dollar to The Lunch Box organization, which provides tools for school districts that assist them in making good food available for their students. They need 500,000 emails to donate $50,000, and right now they are at 76,545.

So send those junk emails! I'm sure you probably have plenty! Might as well put those ads for ****LOVE LOVE PILL BLUE PILL**** to good use.

They want my junk mail? Okay - I will be able to make a large contribution to Chipotle's efforts ;) Thanks for letting us know about this, Melissa!
wow awesome! I get so much spam it's ridiculous!
Thanks for letting me know about this. I will definitely take advantage of it.
telling everyone I know about this....
Fantastic!! I would love to get rid of all those inbox items addressed to Mr Carly convinced that I not only have a penis, but a flaccid one, at that.
YAY for people who turn spam and scam into education!!
Ok, so when I forward them my junk mail, they have my e-mail address. And they're going to sell it to companies sending ads, right?
No thanks.
why is there no information about this project on chipotle or lunchbox websites? smells fishy to me
I suppose I'm more trusting than most. There are quite a few articles about the promotion. And it's been posted on the Lunch Box facebook page. And there's a press release about it on the Chipotle website. http://phx.corporate-ir.net/phoenix.zhtml?c=194775&p=irol-newsArticle&ID=1441534&highlight=
And the press release says this, "No e-mail addresses will be automatically captured when junk e-mail is submitted through its no junk campaign, and the content of e-mails will not be read."
I'd like to think that it's a company attempting to do something nice, and if that's not the case, then I guess I'll just have some more spam in my junk mail filter. But I'm willing to take the chance.
I'll just donate the money to the schools with my winnings from the Nigerian lottery ;)
