NICE Campaign: Help Haiti

As most of you are aware, Haiti was hit with a devastating 7.0 earthquake yesterday. I read that an estimated 3 million people have been affected by this earthquake. If you would like to help but aren't sure how, the Red Cross is accepting donations through their International Response Fund. And to make it even simpler, you can text "HAITI" to 90999 to donate $10 to American Red Cross relief for Haiti. I just made my donation. I hope that you'll consider doing the same.

Or if you know of another organization that you'd like to share with us, please do so in the comments.

Thank you all!

I found this organization that donates 95¢ on the $1 to their humanitarian efforts Haiti only:
http://www.hopeforhaiti.com/
(Most that I saw only use 92¢ or less)

There is also the Episcopal Relief and Development, www.er-d.org, that works all the year in countries all around the world. They have a special fund for Haiti now too.
My prayers are with the people in Haiti and all the people that will help in their recovery.
Blessings!!

Thanks for posting this, Melissa. For someone who doesn't have $10 at the moment to give, knowing that I can have it go to my phone bill (which I budget for), makes it much easier. Have re-posted this a few different places.

I gave to http://www.compassion.com/. We sponsor a child through Compassion and it is a great organization. They have an office in Haiti and have not been been in contact with them yet.

Thank you so much for posting this! I agree - I truly appreciate the cell phone donation capabilities.

I also found this link on msnbc.com (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/34835478/ns/world_news-haiti_earthquake/) that lists organizations assisting in Haiti. I cannot verify the legitimacy of each (for example, how much on the dollar is going to Haiti), but it is a long list and a place to find more information.

May our thoughts be with those lost and those now searching for understanding and peace.
