Hi guys! Did you all have a great weekend? I did! My stylist asked if I'd like to pose for her salon's look book, and if I agreed, I'd get a free cut and color. Awesome! So of course I said yes, and on Saturday I was at the salon for over 6 hours having this done to my hair and trying on outfits for the October 19th photo shoot. :) It's so kick ass! Under the fluorescent lights of my office, the blue blends into the black so it's not quite as noticeable. I suppose that's a good thing since I work for a fairly conservative company. But when I leave here, I can unleash my inner rock star! I do feel a little bit like a comic superhero or something. But I can work with that.
I received an email from NICE reader Mel Weiss the other day and it cracked me up, so I had to share it with you all. It feels good to do nice things for others, right? Well, sometimes we need to pat ourselves on our backs and share with the world just how awesome we are!
Today's Assignment: Be F&*%ing Awesome!
That's where Be F&*%ing Awesome comes in. (I'm censoring for you guys, but the website does not, so just be warned!) This website is a place for you to share your latest awesome deed with others. Create a profile and submit your FAdeeds. And you can rate other people's deeds, which raises their Awesome Quotient. It's like a reward system for being nice.
BFA User krd77 "hosted a happy hour for a bunch of girls that just moved to town. i met some great people and helped welcome the newbies to the area." BFA User meggraeff "adopted a puppy from the orange county animal shelter in North Carolina." BFA User rickybobby77 wrote "I called a 1800-Howsmydriving number and told them the driver was an awesome driver."

Hey! I had a lot of fun this weekend. I work in a little pastry shop and they are a lot of nice custumers that come regulary so I decided to put some nice quotes in the pastries box to make these people smile a little! :) hope they appreciate!

2. i like to think that the whole Secret Agent L thing is, in fact, f*%@ing awesome, and, thus, I will be submitting it as part of your aforementioned assignment.
3. i think Secret Agent L should totally have a streak of color in her hair. like, green. because it's her fave color. yum. (hmmm...but then everyone will know it's Secret Agent L when she walks by because of said streak of color. must re-think.)

I was wondering, you posted about an iPhone app a while ago that tracked good dees. I'm unhealthily attached to my iPhone, but rarely use the apps on there. What was the name of it, so I can dl it?

BFA is a funny site, but it's a bit rude! I think my awesome deeds would be out of place! :-)
Having spent a couple of days on there, BFA looks as if it's relatively new. There's a few really nice entries every once in a while, but mostly they're just inappropriate or self-indulgent.
I really, really like the idea of it, and love posting things i've done for myself (looking back on your profile is awesome) but seeing all of the rubbish and crass updates?
I hope more really nice people contribute to it as a result of this post =/
Hi Elizabeth and everyone on Operation NICE. We are a very new site (Launched on Sept 28th) and are still trying to attract the right kind of people (all of you wonderful people) to keep the site in the spirit that it was intended for, doing every day things to make other people's (and hopefully your own) lives better.
Someone posted a link to it on a website with some questionable figures and we had a flood of ridiculous posts. Luckily that's dying out now and we're starting to get back to the true deeds which we're all happy to see. I really hope their posts haven't tainted you to what can be a great site to share how great you really are!
