My friend and sponsor of this week's giveaway, Brooke, sent me a link to this incredible video this morning. Seven people decided to donate their kidneys to strangers in need. I don't think "nice" even begins to describe them.
Warning: I got a bit teary at the 3:20 mark, so watch out!
Thank you sooo much for sharing this. What a beautiful story!! My wonderful hubby has had 2 kidney transplants from very generous living donors. These people are huge heroes to donate to those they don't even know!
Wow, I wonder where people get the bravery and love and selflessness to do something like that. I'm just not sure I'm that big a person. They are giving away a kidney. It must cross their minds, "what if something goes wrong with the one I have left." That's just an amazing thing to do.
Hi from Spain. Thanks for your blog, Melissa, you're doing something wonderful. This people did something amazing, but I'd like to know what put them together and made them do this? You need a greater motivation than just thinking "it's a great idea" to donate a kidney, plus it is a group of people. Where do they come from? What moved them to do it?
Don't you love it when people go out of their way to be nice? Like when someone waits to hold the door for you. Or when a stranger waves you into a line of traffic. Or even when a coworker shoots you a friendly smile along with a "have a nice day." If everyone was a little bit nicer to the folks they encountered each day, perhaps the world would be a more pleasant place. Operation NICE was initiated to remind you that a little NICE goes a long way.
Do you have a NICE story you'd like to share? Maybe one you've stumbled upon or something that has affected you personally? If so, click here to send me an email!

Great story. That is a big problem in this country that keeps getting worse with our crummy diets.

I agree with Jan! Selfless is such an understatement though...Thank the Lord for wonderful people like them.
