I started today off easy. I bought a Grande Mocha and a Grande Caramel Macchiato for my two coworkers. I thought it would be a nice way to start off a Friday morning! They were pleasantly surprised and it really set the mood for the morning! Well, at least it did for me. :) One day down, 28 more to go. I feel like this might be more difficult on days where I'm not working since I'll come in contact with fewer people. Do you think mailing a card out counts even if the recipient won't receive it on that particular day?

Day #1: 29-Day Giving Challenge
I decided to give the 29-Day Giving Challenge a shot. I'll post all 29 here, so long as I stick with it. I suppose it wouldn't be very nice of me if I didn't.

I would say it counts--because isn't the point to change YOUR perspective daily into one that is more focused on giving?? So regardless of when they receive the gift, I think the key is that you're really making an effort and being consistent.
whenever you can add me to your nice sites list... :)
I believe it should count. You may also surprise someone with an E-Card out the blue. My cousins love getting those!
I think it absolutely counts - it is about your putting happiness out into the world, and reminding yourself to focus on giving.
Besides, I think you've got this one in the bag already - every day in your blog you are giving out compliments and reminding people how good it is to give.
I think it does count. It's a very lovely thought to let someone know that you care.
Ooh, I didn't even think about the e-card idea. I could definitely do that! Maybe I could make a few new e-cards to add to that section of this site. Hmmmmmm. Ideas are a-brewin'.
Hello Miss Melissa! I am doing a giveaway a day for 28 days of Feb! I have 28 artists that are partcipating it will sure to brighten everyone's day:)
BTW, you won the Typography print, the last winner never claimed and then you # came up. I hope this shows that when you do goo for others it certainly does come around...
Kisses,
Miss B.
I started my own 29-Day Giving Challenge 58 days ago (two rounds down :-)...kudos to you for giving it a try! You will be surprised by all the ways you are already giving each day- and even more surprised by what you receive in return. Good luck with it!
yes...it's giving..it counts :)
sorry about your ticket...:(
i heard that doing any task for at least 28 days in a row will form a "habit" --like in your brain or something...so I'd like to think that's why the challenge is 29 days long...but who knows...I feel like your blog puts you in some sort of category for a "perpetual state of giving" so if you run out of things on your days off to do...you could always post something (ooh--video post! teach us something cool?) [wink]
Sure, I would say mailing a card counts! Even if it doesn't arrive that same day, you HAVE given it on that exact day, right?
How neat that you brought your co workers some coffee :) It probably made their morning brighter, and you got to feel that awesome feeling you can only get by giving! (Did that make sense?) Neat idea to make a day more pleasant for all!
Thanks for the inspiring story :)
i think sending a card DEFINITELY counts, you will make someones day! and if you have pets you could buy them a special treat/ toy on days you stay home :)
I believe it counts, too. Just because the person on the receiving end won't get it for a few days, doesn't change the day that you gave it.

What a great challenge. I'm looking forward to reading about what you do each day.
