NICE Testimonial: Warm Hands, Warm Heart

Thanks to everyone who has participated in this week's NICE Assignment so far! As of right now, there are 74 comments total! As far as votes go, Children for Children has a pretty good lead, but all four of the other non-profits are neck and neck for 2nd place. I can't wait to see what the final results are!

In the comments, Caitlin had asked me for some more testimonials, since they are her favorite. So Caitlin, this one's for you! It comes courtesy of Kayd Mustonen from Minnesota who witnessed a heart-warming moment at work.

I have a Nice Testimonial for you!
This past weekend I was working the cash register at Pulp Fashion, a stationery store in Minnesota. If anyone knows anything about Minnesota they know that it is almost always cold. Well it was one of those weekends where the sky was such a bright blue that you wouldn’t expect the harsh wind that was coming off the Hudson River.

A group of six came into the store, two mothers and four children, and began shopping until their hearts were content. Another group had also come into the store including an older woman in her eighties. The older woman had a light jacket on and kept blowing into her hands and rubbing them together to warm them up.

As the two groups passed each other in the store, one of the mothers asked the older lady if her hands were cold. The older lady politely said yes and giggled it off like all us Minnesotans do when realize we weren’t prepared for the weather. The mother then reached inside her purse and pulled out some gloves for the older women to have. The smile on the cold woman’s face was something out of a movie and didn’t leave her face the entire time she was in the store. As the group of six left, one of the children asked her mother why she gave her gloves away. I didn’t hear the mother’s response but continue to think about what a good role model she is for her children and how her kind act made the cold day warmer.

Have a fabulous day!

Not only heart-wearing, but hand-warming! What a generous woman, setting such a great example for her kids!

Wow! Thanks - that is a really quick response to feedback. I live in England and enjoy waking up to a new testimonial over my morning tea and toast before work to inspire me to be a better person that day!
