I have this crazy friend name Kay. This is her, to the left, apparently practicing "jazz hands" during a 76ers game. I could listen to her tell ridiculous stories all day, and luckily, since we work together, that is an option. So yesterday she sends me this email with a little NICE Testimonial, and I couldn't help but laugh when I read it!
Happy post Christmas!! So I have an Operation NICE story for you!
I was in a department store waiting in line, and the woman in front of me had a 20% off coupon. In my head I was thinking, man I wish she would give that to me when she was done. Turns out the coupon was reusable, and then she turned around and gave it to me! I was so excited! When I was done with it, the lady behind me didn't want it (what?! yeah I know) so I walked around the store like a creepoid until I saw a lady with a bunch of clothing in her hand and gave it to her. I told her to pass it on when she was done so I hope she did!
TA-DA!
Is she hilarious or what? I think I need to start ending my emails with "TA-DA!" Seems like force-feeding "nice" to my friends is starting to work. Instead of just tossing away the coupon when the lady behind her didn't want it (who passes up a coupon??), she sought out someone else, no matter how much of a "creepoid" she appeared to be. :)
Do you have a NICE:Testimonial that you'd like to share? If so, click here to send me an email!

i have had many "coupon passing" experiences :), especially at lord and taylor, it always makes the shopping trip sweeter
great post!
I just had a coupon passed on to me a couple of days ago. It was at the grocery store - $5 off for a purchase of $50 or more. The guy said he could see he wasn't going to shop that much and that I was (judging by the contents of my cart) and he gave it to me. So nice! :)
Happy New Year!!
Whoa! How can a coupon be "reusable"? That's so weird, but definitely nice. (And srsly, who passes up a free coupon?!)
that's cool..closest to that I've come is letting a couple of people go ahead of me inline during Thanksgiving shopping madness at the grocery store. ;0)
this totally happened to me at Micheals and it made me so so happy!
I love to do this, i get so many coupons from Macy's that I usually hand them out.
Another favorite is going to an arcade where they give you tickets for playing skeeball, whack a gator, etc. Then, giving all those tickets you won to some cute little kid so they can win a bigger prize when combined with their tickets!
My family was shopping for the Salvation Army Angel Tree before Christmas, which provides clothes and toys to kids in need, and a lady gave us her coupon for JCPenney. It was awesome, because then we had extra money to spend on shoes for the kids.
This blog is to fun!! I am getting a badge for mine, and Okinawa is going to feel the NICE.
Oooh fabulous ^_^ A very NICE Christmas <3
I always seem to end up at A.C.Moore or Michaels without my 20% off coupon. I wish I would have found a coupon-passer on those days! Now I'm just realizing that I went to Macy's with a bunch of coupons and didn't even use them before Christmas. I should have passed them along! Hopefully I'll be more aware of that from now on!
Lovely post. There are so many simple ways to spread smiles, if we only remember to reach for them!
great story, your friend writes funny. I wonder, someone offers you a coupon, and you think "nah, I rather pay more" huh?!
Best. Picture. Ever.
This happened to me at Michael's this past Christmas! I was in line buying bags to fill with homemade cookies as gifts for co-workers, and the woman behind me handed me coupons for something she saw I was buying. Then the guy in front of me needed two cents and I had it, so I gave it to him. We all had a little laugh with the cashier and felt better about the world.
