NICE Stuff: Heart Is Hot

Thanks to a wonderful reader of Operation NICE, the website, Heart Is Hot was introduced to me. Have you ever come across someone that you wanted to pass along a little love to? Someone special in your life maybe. Or a total stranger that could use some kindness. Sahara over at Heart Is Hot offers "100% recycled glass hearts, individually numbered and engraved with an inspired version of the sacred Flower of Life symbol."

I think in order to understand the impact of the heart, you should read Sahara's story here.

She writes the following:
My intention with the hearts was for people to "pass them forward" when they felt complete with them; continuing the literal and symbolic chain of connection that we each share.

The idea of HIH is to remind people of that connection, using a physical symbol of a heart to do so. It's a brand new way of simply following your heart, even literally as you watch it travel around the world over time, quietly spreading the spirit of connectedness.

So, how did I come across this wonderful program? It was all thanks to Andi Fisher!

Click here to read my Heart Is Hot story! Thanks Andi! I am so grateful!

Every action is a ripple whether it be a hug, tears, violent encounter, anything. We never know where these ripples will lead us or find us but being conscious of them and turning them to something good is a real gift to nurture. HIH has done this with such gracefulness.

These are beautiful! I love the idea of forwarding gifts when you "feel complete with them" as Sahara said, or when someone else needs them more than you. For years some of my girlfriends from college passed around a little ceramic cat figurine that a boyfriend had given me. We thought it was the most hilarious little statue and lived quite far apart, so whenever one of us girls was sad we'd mail the little cat to each other. It never ceased to cheer me when it came into my possession and was a great reminder that my far away friends are always with me in spirit. I'd love to do something similar with one of these lovely little hearts!

Interesting, I recently found another unique gift that also involves "the gift of giving" it is The Friendship Stone. This is a gift made up of a Tiger’s Eye semiprecious gemstone which is a unique gift expressing love, appreciation and gratitude. It is a gift full of meaning that I realized is the perfect present for my girl friends. Not only is it the solution to buying a gift that ‘is no better’ than another, every Friendship Stone is unique – just like each of my friends and our relationships. And it is a creative gift that enables my friends to know that I am always there for them – even in times when are busy lives force us to be apart. The best part of all is that The Friendship Stone is under $25 – so I won’t be going into red anytime soon.
