I was checking out my web stats the other day, seeing if there were any new referring links that I didn't recognize, when I came across the website for 5th grade teacher, Ms. Thomas, at Sugar Creek Elementary School in Normal, Illinois. She had posted about this website, and one of her projects for November was to leave NICE Notes in unexpected places around their school!
Okay, I know that I'm a tad bit emotional, and I mention how I get weepy when I read through the testimonials and such, but seeing the photos of her class writing and posting NICE Notes really made me want to bawl! I am so excited that they participated in such a sweet project, and I feel proud of that class for doing their part to encourage niceness throughout their school. Great job Ms. Thomas' 5th grade class!! And thank you to Ms. Thomas for spreading the word!
Seriously, how adorable? Right?! LOVE IT!

Ok, this is awesome.
When my husband and I were doing this assignment, our 12 year old asked, "can I do it too?" of course we said sure! and provided her with some blank cards. The things she wrote on them were so much better than what my husband and I had come up with to write on ours. Things like, "Someone is thinking something good about you RIGHT NOW!" and "More people like you than don't" What great messages to go up around the Jr. High - a place not always known for nice thoughts. How 'bout this one (in the girls locker room at the Jr. High...) "You are beautiful just the way you are."
My daughter rocks.
And Melissa, you rock for providing the impetus for this.
this is so cool!!! what a great idea. that teacher is definately a cool teacher in my book... hopefully it gets passed on to other grades in that school or other schools in that area... so cool.

Kudos to the Teacher! I'm glad that the kids are getting exposed to do something as wonderful as writing a NICE note!
We need to implement more of this in schools.
