Happy Friday everyone! Before I start the Testimonial for today, I just want to thank you all for stopping by. I had so many emails and comments from new folks yesterday, full of kind words and shared stories. I was overwhelmed in the best way possible! This blog was started, well, pretty much for selfish reasons. I needed a personal safe haven. A place where I could hide from the negativity and stress of day to day life and focus on warm fuzziness. Little did I know that I wasn't the only one! So I wanted to say that I'm glad that you are here experiencing this all with me!
Onto the story! I received this one from Mary in Wallingford, PA. And because of the imminent rain clouds approaching Philadelphia today, it seemed appropriate.
My husband and I were out golfing at Springfield Country Club. Suddenly the skies opened up, and there was an amazingly powerful rain storm. Fortunately we were able to seek shelter under a covered area, along with several other golfers. After about 20 minutes, the rain let up and we decided to make our way back to the parking lot. It was then that we remembered we had driven a convertible, and the top was down. We arrived pretty wet back at the lot, and saw to our amazement that somehow, two big blankets had been placed over the top of our car, covering it up. The blankets were soaked by then, but they did a great deal to protect the car, especially the front seat, where we were sitting. We took the blankets back to the golf cart shop, where they were hung on a line. We never knew who took the trouble to cover our car, and were willing to leave behind their two blankets. We were so grateful.
Such a selfless act! Without even knowing the recipient of the good deed, they went ahead and helped out because it was the nice thing to do. And as someone who has carelessly left her car windows down during a rain storm, I know how valuable a gesture like that really is!

Great story! I have a convertible, so I completely know what that feels like when you're caught off-guard with the top down. Happy Friday!
