I only have a quick minute before I rush out the door for a little solo adventure to NYC, but I wanted to give you a little something to read, so here's a story that Sharon had emailed me yesterday. Enjoy!
I think yesterday was my “nice” day. I touched base with several friends who needed a nice phone call. I offered my services as a friend, cooking a meal, etc. However, the moment that stands out the most is my morning. As I was driving to a meeting at 8:00 I saw a young boy walking along the highway, obviously walking to school. I didn’t have my cell phone to call the police. I considered turning around and picking him up, but if his mother taught him right, he wouldn’t get in the car with me. My meeting was at the middle school. I told the vice principal, who sent out their resource officer ( a local sheriff), who picked up the boy and took him to school. I was so worried about this little boy and so relieved to hear that he made it to school safely. The sad thing is, two other people in my meeting saw the very same boy walking along the highway and didn’t do anything about it.
Thank goodness Sharon took the initiative and said something! A highway isn't exactly a great spot for a young boy to be walking. Great work, Sharon!!
